What is a Facility Security Officer (FSO)?
The individual a cleared contractor designates to supervise security measures required by 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM). INTS2 provides outsourced FSO support for small contractors — from $250/hour Sprint engagements to year-round embedded support.
What is OPSEC?
Operational Security identifies critical information, analyzes threats, and applies countermeasures per DoDD 5205.02E. We build programs from scratch and audit existing ones.
What does the Technology Development Team build?
Custom-built solutions to security problems with no commercial off-the-shelf answer. Our team includes ISSMs, Data Engineers, and AI/Cloud Architects. We build custom integrations, security automation, classified-environment tooling, RMF-aligned applications, AI-augmented compliance workflows, secure cloud architecture (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), and bespoke compliance dashboards.
How much does CMMC 2.0 cost?
Fully managed CMMC 2.0 compliance starting at $399/month, built on Google Workspace and SentinelOne FedRAMP-authorized 24/7 MDR. Delivered in partnership with ATX Defense.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Facility Security Officer (FSO)?
A Facility Security Officer (FSO) is the individual a cleared U.S. defense contractor designates to supervise and direct security measures required by 32 CFR Part 117 (the NISPOM Rule). Every cleared contractor must have an FSO, even if the company has only one classified contract and one cleared employee. INTS2 provides outsourced FSO support for small contractors that don’t need a full-time FSO on staff.
How long does it take to get a Facility Clearance (FCL)?
DCSA estimates 6 to 9 months for a Facility Clearance application from start to issuance. Actual timelines depend on the responsiveness of the applicant, the complexity of the corporate structure (especially Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence — FOCI — mitigation requirements), and DCSA processing capacity. INTS2 has completed two FCLs in 2025 — both with associated Personnel Security Clearances (PCLs) — and successful interactions with DCSA across all client engagements.
What areas of the country does INTS2 serve?
INTS2 supports federal and commercial clients across all 50 states and U.S. territories including Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The team delivers engagements on-site, in mobile configurations that travel to the customer, or fully remote, with engagement lengths ranging from a single day to year-round support.
What’s the difference between CMMC Level 1 and Level 2?
Level 1 (Foundational) requires the 17 basic safeguarding requirements from FAR 52.204-21 and applies to contractors handling Federal Contract Information (FCI). It is verified by annual self-assessment. Level 2 (Advanced) requires the 110 controls from NIST SP 800-171 Rev 2 and applies to contractors handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Most small defense contractors need Level 2 compliance once they win their first DoD contract involving CUI. If a company has Level 2, Level 1 is included.
Is INTS2 eligible for SDVOSB set-aside contracts?
Yes. INTS2 is certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) via the SBA VetCert program, which makes it eligible for SDVOSB set-aside federal contracts, sole-source awards under applicable thresholds, and full-and-open competitions. Our SAM.gov record (CAGE 9QWG4, UEI TLSKHAZXYFU2, DUNS 024293718) reflects the certification.
